The 20 cN/dtex class for optical cable reinforcement. PF100 covers the axial load requirements of mainstream cable designs with stable elongation behavior and processability.
PF100 is a standard-tenacity PPTA para-aramid continuous filament yarn for optical fiber cable reinforcement. It is intended for cable strength members and related reinforcement structures that require dimensional stability and thermal resistance.
Central and peripheral strength members, stranded or served reinforcement layers in indoor, outdoor and all-dielectric cable constructions. Ropes, cords and general industrial textiles.
Limiting oxygen index (LOI) 29% · decomposition temperature above 530 °C · hot-air shrinkage ≤ 0.2% (190 °C × 15 min) · density 1.44 g/cm³. The yarn does not melt.

¹ Calculated from nominal linear density and specification tenacity, for cable design reference only — not a measured batch result. Test methods: ASTM D1907 (linear density), ASTM D7269 (tensile, twist multiplier 1.1, gauge length 250 mm, 200 mm/min), ASTM D2257 (oil pick-up). Conditioning: 21 ± 1 °C and 65 ± 2% RH per ASTM D1776. Typical oil pick-up: 1.0%. Other deniers on request.
